Why Is Friedrich Wöhler Influential?

According to Wikipedia, Friedrich Wöhler FRS HonFRSE was a German chemist known for his work in both organic and inorganic chemistry, being the first to isolate the chemical elements beryllium and yttrium in pure metallic form.
