(Suggest an Edit or Addition)Ajita Kesakambali was an Indian philosopher who taught during the 6th century BC. A contemporary of the Buddha and Mahariva, Kerakambali is considered the first proponent of Indian materialism. His influence can also be seen in the Lokayaya school of thought.
No written records of Kerakambali’s teachings exist, but Buddhist sources reference him as believing that there is no gain from performing good deeds or charitable works because eventually all people will die.
According to Wikipedia, Ajita Kesakambali was an ancient Indian philosopher in the 6th century BC. He is considered to be the first known proponent of Indian materialism, and forerunner to the Charvaka school. He was probably a contemporary of the Buddha and Mahavira. It has frequently been noted that the doctrines of the Lokayata school were considerably drawn from Ajita's teachings.
