(Suggest an Edit or Addition)According to Wikipedia, Dame Angela Ruth McLean is professor of mathematical biology in the Department of Biology, University of Oxford, and Chief Scientific Adviser to the UK Government. Early life and education McLean was born on 31 May 1961 in Kingston, Jamaica, the daughter of Elizabeth and Andre McLean. She was educated at Mary Datchelor Girls’ School, Camberwell, London, going on to study for a Bachelor of Arts degree in mathematics at the University of Oxford where she was a student of Somerville College, Oxford. She was taught mathematical biology by Jim Murray, and graduated in 1982. In 1987 she received her PhD from Imperial College, London with a thesis on Mathematical models of the epidemiology of measles in developing countries, supervised by Roy M. Anderson.
