Why Is Carlos Pardo-Villamizar Influential?
(Suggest an Edit or Addition)According to Wikipedia, Carlos A. Pardo-Villamizar, also known simply as Carlos Pardo, is a professor of neurology and pathology at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, as well as the director of the Johns Hopkins Transverse Myelitis Center. His area of expertise is immunopathology and the neuroimmune system. He is currently leading a project that investigates the role of neuroglial dysfunction in HIV infection and drug abuse, and has also published research concluding that the brains of autistic individuals exhibit neuroglial activation, loss of neurons in the Purkinje layer and neuroinflammation "in the same regions [of the brain] that appear to have excess white matter."
