George Carter Glass Jr. , was a Virginia publisher and politician. He represented Lynchburg and Campbell County in the Virginia Senate for one term.Early and family life Carter Glass Jr. was born to newspaper publisher Carter Glass and his wife Aurelia Caldwell McDearmon Glass on March 29, 1893. His father became a Virginia state senator in 1898, and later a U.S. Congressman and U.S. Senator. One of two brothers, Carter Glass Jr. attended Washington and Lee University, from which he received an A.B. degree, and then Virginia Polytechnic University. He was commissioned a second lieutenant of infantry in World War I and reported to Fort Myer, Virginia on June 5, 1917.Source: Wikipedia
