Why Is David Gubbins Influential?
(Suggest an Edit or Addition)According to Wikipedia, David Gubbins is a British former geophysicist concerned with the mechanism of the Earth's magnetic field and theoretical geophysics. He is Emeritus Professor of Earth Sciences at Leeds University. Career Gubbins graduated as a geophysicist from Trinity College, Cambridge University in 1968 and received his Ph.D. in 1972. He then studied as a post-doctoral student for three years in the United States at the University of Colorado, Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the University of California, Los Angeles, where he was also assistant professor from 1974 to 1976. In 1976 he returned to Cambridge to work in the Department of Geodesy and Geophysics , becoming a professor and a fellow of Churchill College. He moved to Leeds University as Head of Geophysics in 1989, retiring in 2009.
