Why Is Dieter Timpe Influential?

According to Wikipedia, Dieter Timpe was a German historian best known for his theories on Arminius and the Battle of the Teutoburg Forest. Biography Dieter Timpe was born in Halle, Germany on 3 November 1931. Since 1950, Timpe studied classical philology at the universities of Berlin, Basel and Freiburg. He received his PhD at the University of Freiburg in 1956. His dissertation on the Principate was supervised by Herbert Nesselhauf.
