He is a Professor Emeritus of Psychology at the University of Connecticut, a Senior Scientist at Haskins Laboratories in New Haven, Connecticut, and a member of the Board of Directors at Haskins. He is married to well-known American philosopher of biology, psychology, and language Ruth Millikan.
