Eliezer Shlomo Yudkowsky is an American artificial intelligence theorist and writer best known for popularizing the idea of friendly artificial intelligence. He is a co-founder and research fellow at the Machine Intelligence Research Institute , a private research nonprofit based in Berkeley, California.
