According to Wikipedia, Elliott Gould is an American actor. In a career spanning over seven decades, he began acting in Hollywood films during the 1960s. Gould's breakthrough role was in the film Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice , for which he received a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor. The following year, he starred as Capt. Trapper John McIntyre in the Robert Altman film M*A*S*H , for which he received BAFTA Award and Golden Globe Award nominations. Gould continued working with Altman in The Long Goodbye and California Split . Other notable film roles include Alan Arkin's Little Murders , Ingmar Bergman's The Touch , Richard Attenborough's A Bridge Too Far , Capricorn One , The Silent Partner , Over the Brooklyn Bridge , Warren Beatty's Bugsy , American History X , Steven Soderbergh's Contagion , and Ruby Sparks . He also starred as Reuben Tishkoff in the Ocean's film series .
