Since 2013, she has been Professor of Demography at the London School of Economics and Political Science . She was previously Professor of Demographic Gerontology at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine from 2003 to 2012, and Professor of Demography at the University of Cambridge from 2012 to 2013. From October 2017, she will be Professor of Population Science and Director of the Institute for Social and Economic Research at the University of Essex.
