Why Is Ernst Badian Influential?

According to Wikipedia, Ernst Badian was an Austrian-born classical scholar who served as a professor at Harvard University from 1971 to 1998. Early life and education Badian was born in Vienna in 1925 and in 1938 fled the Nazis with his family to New Zealand. There he attended the University of Canterbury, Christchurch , where he met his future wife Nathlie Ann Wimsett. He received a BA in 1945 and an MA the following year.
