Drafted out of Brigham Young University in the 1972 NFL Draft, Gravelle spent eight seasons with three teams: the Pittsburgh Steelers , the New York Giants , and the Los Angeles Rams . He earned two Super Bowl rings in Super Bowl IX and Super Bowl X with the Steelers. He lost Super Bowl XIV in 1979 with The Los Angeles Rams.
