She is Chair of the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges a GP principal and Chair of the National Academy for Social Prescribing . She was Chair of the Royal College of General Practitioners from November 2016 to November 2019. She is also a professor of GP Education at Birmingham University and holds a visiting chair at St George's, University of London.
