She was born in Jerusalem. Education and career Irus Braverman trained in law and criminology at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. In Israel, Braverman served as a public state prosecutor and as an environmental lawyer, before becoming a community organizer for environmental justice issues and a political activist.
