According to Wikipedia, Jean Elizabeth Lowrie was an American librarian, educator, and president of the American Library Association from 1973 to 1974. She received a bachelor's degree from Keuka College in 1940 and a second bachelor's degree in library science from Western Reserve University in 1941. She went on to receive a master's degree in elementary education from Western Michigan University in 1956 and her doctorate from Western Reserve University in 1959.
