She is a Distinguished Professor of Sustainability and Director of the School of Economic Sciences at Washington State University. Early life and education McCluskey completed her Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Economics and Political Science in 1989 at the University of California, Santa Barbara before completing her Master's degree in economics at Georgetown University. Following this, she enrolled at the University of California, Berkeley for her Master of Science degree and PhD in agricultural and resource economics.
