According to Wikipedia, Life and career Joan Ann Rosazza was born in May 19, 1937 in Torrington, Connecticut where she was raised and where she was eventually taught to swim competitively. She is an American former competition swimmer and Olympic medalist. She represented the United States as a 19-year-old at the 1956 Summer Olympics in Melbourne, Australia, where she won a silver medal in the women's 4×100-meter freestyle relay with Sylvia Ruuska, Shelley Mann and Nancy Simons. Individually, she also competed in the women's 100-meter freestyle at the Olympics and finished fourth in the final.
