(Suggest an Edit or Addition)According to Wikipedia, Jody C Baumgartner is the Thomas Harriot College of Arts and Sciences Distinguished Professor, in the Department of Political Science at East Carolina University. He received his Ph.D. in political science from Miami University in 1998, specializing in the study of political humor, the vice presidency and presidential campaigns and elections. He is probably best known for researching the effects of viewing political humor on people's political attitudes, such as The Daily Show and The Colbert Report. [4][5]. He has authored or edited ten books , most recently, the encyclopedia of "American of Political Humor," [1], and numerous journal articles and book chapters.
