Johann Gotthelf Lindner was the elder brother to Ehregott Friedrich Lindner, also born in Schmolsin, and to Gottlob Immanuel Lindner , born in the city of Königsberg. He was therefore also an uncle to the journalist-doctor Friedrich Ludwig Lindner .
