According to Wikipedia, Johann Lorenz von Mosheim or Johann Lorenz Mosheim was a German Lutheran church historian. Biography He was born at Lübeck on 9 October 1693 or 1694. After studying at the gymnasium of Lübeck, he entered the University of Kiel , where he took his master's degree in 1718. In 1719 he became assessor in the philosophical faculty at Kiel.
