According to Wikipedia, Sir John Taylor, KCB, FRIBA was a British architect working for the Office of Works. Early life The son of a joiner, Taylor first trained in the service of the Duke of Northumberland and under Anthony Salvin, who, from 1852, remodelled the duke's Alnwick Castle.
