According to Wikipedia, Lawrence John Hall is a theoretical particle physicist and professor at the University of California, Berkeley and the Berkeley Center for Theoretical Physics. Biography Hall received his bachelor's degree from Oxford in 1977 and his Ph.D. from Harvard in 1981 with Howard Georgi. He was a Miller Fellow at Berkeley and an assistant professor at Harvard where he was a Sloan Foundation Fellow, before becoming professor at Berkeley in 1983, where he won a Presidential Young Investigator Award.
