Why Is Leopold Cohn Influential?

According to Wikipedia, Leopold Cohn was a German author and philologist. He was also the father of Israeli politician and supreme court jurist Haim Cohn. He received his education at the gymnasium at Culm, West Prussia, and at the University of Breslau, whence he graduated as doctor of philosophy in 1878. In 1884 he became privatdozent at the Breslau University, in 1889 he was appointed librarian, and in 1897 he received the title of professor.
