Why Is Lorrie Frasure Influential?
(Suggest an Edit or Addition)Dr. Lorrie Frasure is a proud first-generation college graduate, born and raised on the Southside of Chicago. She is an Associate Professor of Political Science and African American Studies at the University of California, Los Angeles. She serves as Department Vice Chair for Graduate Studies in Political Science. In 2020-2021, she will also serve as Acting Director of the Ralph J. Bunche Center for African American Studies at UCLA. In 2015, she became the first African American female and the first woman of color to earn tenure and promotion in the Political Science Department at UCLA.
Alma Maters: Ph.D. and MA in Political Science from the University of Maryland, College Park, a master’s in public policy (MPP) from the University of Chicago, and a BA in Political Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
