Biography Horster studied Ancient History, Latin and Political Science at the Universities of Lausanne, Bonn and Cologne and completed her studies in 1989 in Cologne with a master's degree in Ancient History, Latin and Political Science. From 1990 to 1994 she was Research Associate at the Department of Ancient History of Werner Eck at the University of Cologne, where she was awarded her doctorate in 1995. Her thesis was on the study of building inscriptions of Roman emperors in the west of the empire.
