According to Wikipedia, Marvin Eugene Wolfgang was an American sociologist and criminologist. Biography Wolfgang was a soldier in World War II and participated in the Battle of Monte Cassino. After the war he studied at Dickinson College, graduating in 1948, and the University of Pennsylvania, where his principal teacher was Thorsten Sellin. At Penn, Wolfgang took his MA and PhD in sociology/criminology. Until his death in 1998 he was a professor of criminology at the University of Pennsylvania.
