According to Wikipedia, Maurice Pic was a French entomologist who specialised in Coleoptera. He contributed to Mary-Louis Fauconnet's Catalogue raisonné des coléoptères de Saône-et-Loire and wrote many short papers, many in L'Échange, Revue Linnéenne describing world beetles.
