Why Is Michael Unser Influential?

According to Wikipedia, Michael Unser is a Swiss engineer and a professor at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne . His research focuses on the field of biomedical image processing. Career Unser obtained a M.S. in 1981 and a PhD in 1984 in electrical engineering from the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne . In 1985, he moved to the National Institute of Health in Bethesda, Maryland, where he worked as a post-doctoral fellow in the Biomedical Engineering and Instrumentation Program. There, he became head of the Image Processing Group in 1990. In 1997, he was named associate professor at EPFL, where he was promoted full professor in 2000. In 2021, he was named academic director of the EPFL Center for Imaging.
