Athletics Koikawa competed for Japan in the 1990 IAAF World Cross Country Championships in Aix-les-Bains, finishing 14th with a time of 14:39, in the 1991 IAAF World Cross Country Championships in Antwerp, finishing 19th with a time of 14:56 and in the 10,000 metres at the Buffalo Universiade in Buffalo, NY, on July 15, 1993 finishing with a time of 33:01.81.
