According to Wikipedia, Ludwig Otto Hölder was a German mathematician born in Stuttgart. Early life and education Hölder was the youngest of three sons of professor Otto Hölder , and a grandson of professor Christian Gottlieb Hölder ; his two brothers also became professors. He first studied at the Polytechnikum and then in 1877 went to Berlin where he was a student of Leopold Kronecker, Karl Weierstrass, and Ernst Kummer.
