His research interests are International Trade, Macroeconomic Theory, and International Finance. Early life and education Partha Sen was born on 4 November 1951. In 1972, he completed a Bachelor of Arts in Economics at the University of Delhi, and an Master of Arts in Economics in 1975. In 1979, he was awarded an MSocSci in Economics by the University of Birmingham. He received his PhD from the London School of Economics in 1984.
