Life Born in Perth on 17 May 1823, he was the eldest son of William Gloag , a banker in Perth, by his wife Janet Burn , daughter of John Burn, WS of Edinburgh. William Gloag, Lord Kincairney was his younger brother, and his eldest sister was Jessie Burn Gloag, who founded a ragged school in Perth.
