Why Is Pieter Nicolaas van Kampen Influential?
(Suggest an Edit or Addition)According to Wikipedia, Pieter Nicolaas van Kampen was a Dutch zoologist. In 1904 he received his PhD from the University of Amsterdam, where he was a student and assistant to Max Carl Wilhelm Weber. From 1905 to 1911 he was based in the Dutch East Indies, during which time, he was assigned to the Aru Islands and participated in an expedition to Netherlands New Guinea . In 1911 he returned to Amsterdam as a zoological assistant at the university. From 1917 to 1931 he served as a professor at the University of Leiden.
