He is Board of Regent's Professor of Criminal Justice and Criminology at Georgia State University in the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies. He served as Chair of the Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology at GSU from 2014–2018, and was elected a Fellow of the American Society of Criminology in 2009.
