According to Wikipedia, Robert Bruce McClanahan is an American former professional ice hockey player who played 224 games in the National Hockey League for the Buffalo Sabres, Hartford Whalers and New York Rangers between 1980 and 1983. McClanahan was a member of the U.S. men's Olympic hockey team that beat the Soviet Union en route to a gold medal at Lake Placid in 1980.
