According to Wikipedia , Ross Harold Arnett Jr. was an American entomologist noted for his studies of beetles, and as founder of the Coleopterist's Bulletin. Born in Medina, New York, he was a star student at Cornell University, where he became interested in beetles and started on a revision of the Nearctic Silphidae. He graduated in 1942, the same year that he married his high school sweetheart Mary Ennis.
