Samuel Robson “Rob” Walton was born on October 28, 1944, and has achieved the title of the 17th richest person in the world due to his position as the heir to the Walmart fortune.
Walton used his degree to practice for Conner & Winters, the firm that represented Walmart at the time. He later joined Walmart as a senior vice president, and was eventually promoted to vice chairman. Upon his father’s death in 1992, Walton assumed the position of the chairman of the board of directors.
Walton has been married three times and has three children. He has a large collection of automobiles, and has pledged to donate $2 billion to the Walton Family Foundation. The foundation focuses on education (particularly the construction of charter schools) and environmental issues.
