Why Is Sandra Leiblum Influential?
(Suggest an Edit or Addition)According to Wikipedia, Sandra Risa Leiblum was an American author, lecturer, and researcher in sexology. Biography Leiblum was born in Brooklyn, NY, earned her B.A. from Brooklyn College and graduated with a Ph.D. in psychology from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, Illinois. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Colorado Medical Center, Denver, Colorado. In 1972 she joined the faculty of the Department of Psychiatry of UMDNJ, Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. During her career she studied sexual issues in many circumstances addressing among others transgender situations, infertility, and menopause. She was on the editorial board of the Journal of Sex Education and Therapy and the Journal of Gay and Lesbian Social Services. Among the honors she received were the Masters and Johnson Lifetime Achievement Award and the Distinguished Scientific Achievement Award . She was the first president the International Society for the Study of Women's Sexual Health in 2000 and a past president of the Society for Sex Therapy and Research, as well as a Fellow of the Society for the Scientific Study of Sexuality.
