Why Is Sheldon C. Reed Influential?
(Suggest an Edit or Addition)According to Wikipedia, Sheldon Clark Reed was an American biologist and geneticist who coined the term genetic counseling and advocated for the wider use of genetic counseling as a means to educate the public. Education Reed was born in Vermont on November 7, 1910. He acquired a bachelor's degree in biology from Dartmouth College where he worked under George Davis Snell researching harelip in mice. He published a paper on this subject in his junior year. He later attended Harvard University for graduate school where he performed research under William Castle, studying mutations in mammals including harelip. He published 9 more research papers at Harvard before receiving his PhD in biology in 1935.
