Hackett is an American economist, and Professor Emeritus of Economics at Cal Poly Humboldt , known for his contributions to the fields of environmental and natural resources economics. Biography Born and raised in Arcata, California in 1960, Hackett obtained his BS in Agricultural Business and Economics at the Montana State University in 1983. He then moved to the Texas A&M University, where he obtained his MS in economics 1986, and his PhD in economics in 1989.
