He has served as a professor at the Universities of North Carolina – Chapel Hill, Louisiana State University and is currently a Foundation Distinguished Professor in Mechanical engineering, Chemistry, and Bioengineering at the University of Kansas. He also holds adjunct positions in the Department of Cancer Biology and the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology . He is the founder of the biotechnology company, BioFluidica, Inc.
