Why Is Thomas Bredsdorff Influential?

According to Wikipedia, Thomas Bredsdorff is a Danish literary scholar and critic. He received a Doctor of Philosophy in 1976 from the University of Copenhagen, where he was professor of Nordic literature from 1978 to 2004.
