He played in Major League Baseball from 1987 through 2000 for the Oakland Athletics, Florida Marlins, Colorado Rockies, and Atlanta Braves. He managed the Rockies from 2013 through 2016. Weiss won the Rookie of the Year award. He was also a member of the National League All-Star Team.
