According to Wikipedia, William Pope Barney was an American architect. Barney was born 1890 in Columbus, Georgia, where he received his early education. He received a bachelor's degree in architecture from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1911. He then came to Philadelphia, where he earned a second B.S. in architecture in 1912 and a master's degree in 1913, both from the University of Pennsylvania. By 1915 he was employed in the office of his mentor, Paul Cret.
