He was head of the Institute for International Law and International Relations at the University of Graz from 2003 to 2016 and is co-founder of the ETC Graz and the European Training and Research Center for Human Rights and Democracy at the University of Graz and long-time chairman of WUS Austria. He is married and father of two children.
