Garth Taylor

The Honourable Dr. Garth Alfred Taylor, OJ, Ph.D. was a Jamaican ophthalmologist, professor, and humanitarian. Born in Montego Bay, Taylor was a Queen's Scout in his youth. He received his education at Cornwall College in Jamaica and Queen's University in Ontario. He later became an associate professor of ophthalmology at the latter institution, as well as chief of ophthalmology at Cornwall Community Hospital in Canada.

Howard E. Skipper

Howard Earle Skipper was a noted American oncologist. He grew up in Sebring, Florida and received his science degrees from the University of Florida. During the war, he became interested in cancer research while working for what was then called the Chemical Warfare Service of the United States Army. By 1957, he had become a notable cancer researcher in Alabama and went on to serve as head of the Southern Research Institute.

She started the molecular ophthalmology department at the Lions Eye Institute.
