Emmie te Nijenhuis is a Dutch ethnomusicologist of the music of India. She was an associate professor of Indian musicology at Utrecht University between 1964 and 1988. Life Te Nijenhuis was born in Bussum on 11 November 1931. She studied classical piano at the Utrechts Conservatorium from 1951 to 1955. From 1951 to 1964 she concurrently studied Western musicology, Sanskrit and Indian musicology at Utrecht University. William D. Steers was a Paul Mellon professor and chair of the Department of Urology at the University of Virginia School of Medicine. Vladimir Petrovich Demikhov was a Soviet scientist and organ transplantation pioneer, who performed several transplants in the 1940s and 1950s, including the transplantation of a heart into an animal and a heart–lung replacement in an animal.
