Aerius of Pontus was a 4th-century presbyter of Sebaste in Pontus. He taught doctrines that were in opposition to 4th-5th century Christian beliefs. His views are known from St Epiphanius's Panarion in which he was accused of being an Arian. For a short period, he had many followers in Sebaste. He failed to make his teachings widely popular and his sect died out soon after his death. Alexa Suelzer was an American author, educator and theologian known for her Old Testament criticism. A Roman Catholic religious sister, she was a member of the Sisters of Providence of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, Indiana. One of her most cited works is her essay "Modern Old Testament Criticism" in The New Jerome Biblical Commentary. In addition to her writing, she taught for twenty years at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College.

Elmar Salumaa was an Estonian theologian. In 1935 he graduated from Tartu University in religion. From 1937 to 1940 and 1942 to 1944, he taught at Tartu University. From 1944 to 1945 he was a pastor at Laiuse Congregation. In 1945 he was arrested and until 1955 he was imprisoned. From 1956 to 1995 he was a professor at the Institute of Theology of the Estonian Evangelical Lutheran Church. From 1969 to 1995 he was a pastor at Saarde Congregation.
