About Georgia Tech
Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech) was founded in 1885. A component part of the University System of Georgia, today Georgia Tech has five satellite campuses: in Savannah, Georgia; Metz, France; Athlone, Ireland; Shenzhen, China; and Singapore.
Georgia Tech continues to grow rapidly. As of the beginning of the 2019 academic year, the student body numbered more than 36,000, which was an 11.5 percent increase over the previous year.
The university’s programs of study are divided among six colleges: the Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts; the College of Sciences; the College of Engineering; the College of Computing; the College of Design; and the College of Business. Georgia Tech Online offers more than 240 different courses and programs for distance learners.
Altogether, the university offers a wide variety of technologically focused course programs (majors and minors), which earn strong national rankings on a consistent basis.
